Jackie Kennedy’s Car Goes on the Market for $295,000

Jackie Kennedy’s BMW Can be Yours! Sold on the Market for $295,000. Email info@gottahaveit.com or call 212-750-7900 for more information.

It’s a vehicle fit for a first lady, and it even has a cassette player.

The beautiful green, 1974 BMW is a lost American treasure because it once belonged to Jacqueline Kennedy, who paid $13,000 for the German car at the time. Today, it can be yours for $295,000.
She bought the car while living in New York with Aristotle Onassis, whom she married in 1968 — five years after the assassination of her first husband, President John F. Kennedy.
She used it mainly to shuttle between her luxurious Fifth Avenue apartment to a sprawling estate in Peapack, New Jersey.

The car today is being sold by GottaHaveIt.com and comes with the original title and registration papers, which are signed by Jacqueline Bouvier Onassis.

Joel Jeker takes care of the vehicle for the current owner, a woman who lives in Fort Myers, Florida and wishes to remain anonymous.

“This is Jackie’s one and only car,” he told Inside Edition. “The car has 65,000 miles originally. JFK, Jr. and Caroline grew up in the back seat of this car.”

The car came with leather seats and power windows. She also ponied up extra cash for fog lights, a cassette tape player and excellent speakers.

Like most cars of the era, it was also equipped with ashtrays. The two-time widow was allegedly a closet chain smoker.

Forty-two years later, the car is still in excellent condition. People admiring it even told Jeker “it’s gorgeous.”

Jackie Kennedy died in 1994, but the car carries some of the former first lady’s imprints.

Jeker said: “There’s actually little scratches still when she used to fidget with her keys and her bracelets.”
